Photos for Immich
Photos sit on Zip disks, old laptops and camera cards copied into folders named NEW FOLDER (3). Immich can read any tree as a read-only external library, but faces and albums are keyed by path, so the tree has to stay put. Studiolo gives Immich one stable tree over all of them.

PHOTOS.TXT
One photo, several files
RAW, JPEG and the .xmp sidecar stay together, as do Live Photos (HEIC and MOV) and burst sequences.
Copies found across disks
Identity is the content hash, so the same photo on three backups is one item with three locations. The copy count report lists photos that exist on only one disk, and how old that disk is.
Offline disks stay in the catalog
A Zip disk in a drawer is offline, not deleted. Its photos stay in the catalog, out of Immich's library until a copy is somewhere always online.
Faces and albums survive
Paths stay fixed, so Immich keeps its albums and recognized faces. Later, those faces can be read back into the catalog and kept even if Immich is replaced.
